Production needs information

1920

It all started 1920 in the Black Forest. At that time Kienzle developed the TFW (Taxi Trip Recorder). A unit registering running times and stoppages of machines on a record chart. New requirements resulted in a continuous development of the unit line. Electromechanical recorders such as the MSN (Quantity recorder) and the ZSN (Time recorder) were developed.

1968
Many years later innovative engineers at VDO in Frankfurt were searching for a practical solution to reliably record data from automatic lathes. In 1968 this resulted in the development of the NUS (Utilisation recorder), later also sold to other interested companies.
1981

In 1981 Kienzle marketed the 2450 Terminal – with 80.000 units sold the most successful MDE terminal worldwide.

1982/83

One year later gbo took over the BDE (Production data recording) section of VDO AG and in 1983 presented the Production Data Recording Terminal 723 – capable of online operation and revolutionary at the time.
1986

From the second half of the eighties gbo's main focus centred on the development and implementation of complete systems with its own software. The bisoft software package impressively demonstrates that Machine Data Recording can do more than just record data. Processing of and utilisation for other purposes is now also possible (i.e. feedback to PPS (production planning) systems, order and article data control).

1995

Complete integration of the Production Data Recording section of Kienzle in 1995. gbo continued further development of existing data recording hardware (among others the 2480 Terminal – the "classic" Kienzle recorder).

1998

Halfway through 1998 cooperation with the software and hardware producer DATACOMP GmbH extended the product spectrum for employee time recording and production data recording for KMU units (PZE-85 terminal and touch screen terminal 2000TS).

2004
2004 saw the fusion between gbo AG – PDC/MDC (production/machine data collection) departments– and DATACOMP GmbH into the new company gbo datacomp GmbH.
